Robert Triebe
M.A.Sc., P.Eng. B. Sc.
Robert Triebe has been a cornerstone of Thermal Energy International since 1993, evolving through various roles with increasing responsibility. As Chief Operating Officer, he brings extensive expertise in technology development, and project conception, design, and implementation. He earned his M.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and is recognized as a technical and business expert by the Canadian funding agency Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) for whom he evaluates technologies for receipt of Canadian government funding. He brings his strategic vision, technical knowledge, and passion for collaborative carbon reduction to industrial partnerships, resulting in economical facilitation of carbon reduction efforts.
Sam Mawby
M.Eng, MBA
Sam Mawby has worked for the business for 20 years, and is currently responsible for business development with our multinational clients and the management of the European technical teams and business delivery.
Sam previously worked closely with the inventor of the GEM Trap and together they expanded the product range, strengthened the supply chain and extended the sales network into new territories.
Isobel Wales
B.Eng, MA
Isobel Wales, has worked across the business in her 15 years at Thermal Energy. A qualified engineer, she has been responsible for both technical and sales teams during her time at the Company and currently leads the digitalisation of all areas of business operations, as well as maintaining oversight of GEM Trap manufacture, supply chain and export.
Isobel also heads up the marketing and investor relations team.
Vince Sands
P.E.
Mr. Sands was appointed to the senior management team following the acquisition of Boilerroom Equipment Inc (BEI) in June 2018. He brings to the team over 27 years of experience and expertise in the commercial, industrial, and utility boiler industries. In 2004, he founded his own business, Boilerroom Equipment Inc., which is now a division of Thermal Energy International that engineers and manufacturers the HeatSponge brand.
Board of Directors
William B. White
William White has extensive global leadership and public company director experience. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Woodland Biofuels, which is commercializing technology for low cost bio-ethanol production, and Director and Chairman of CHAR Technologies. William had a 34-year career with E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, where he retired as the President of DuPont Canada in 2008 following progressive and international roles spanning senior management, sales, technical and operations.
William Crossland
Mr. Crossland is an accomplished corporate finance and corporate development professional with over 20 years experience successfully executing a broad range of debt, equity and merger and corporate acquisition transactions. His experience in this sector encompasses more than 20 equity, debt and corporate development transactions totaling over $2 billion with a wide range of alternative energy companies, projects and technologies including hydro, wind, biomass, starch based ethanol, cellulosic ethanol, landfill gas to electricity, municipal solid waste electricity, heat recovery and biogas.
Michael Williams
Mr. Williams is currently an Associate Portfolio Manager with Independent Accountants Investment Counsel Inc. He spent nine years with Honeywell Limited in the role of Sales Manager and Senior Account Executive, where he was the lead sales liaison for the Thermal Energy relationship. At Johnson Controls, he was also instrumental in working with Thermal Energy to develop and execute the cooperative agreement between the two organizations.
David Spagnolo
Dr. Spagnolo is the Senior Vice President, Oil & Gas of Ausenco, a global engineering, procurement, construction management, and operations service provider to the energy and resources sectors. His strong technical capabilities are a result of over 15 years’ experience in bitumen production, upgrading and midstream operations. His experience covers a wide range of activities including; plant operations engineering, plant troubleshooting, turn-around activities, owners’ process engineering representative, front-end engineering, and owners’ business development technical specialist. The combination of operations experience, engineering design and business development engineering provide the basis for his approach to problem solving.
William Ollerhead
Mr. Ollerhead is the principal of Ollerhead Capital, a division of a private family investment and management services company, Chunkerhead Ltd, which he founded, and of which he serves as Managing Director. He has over 25 years of experience in the capital markets and corporate finance field. He presently serves as CEO of Cuspis Capital Ltd. (TSX-V: CUSP.P), and has served on several other boards of both public and private companies, and not-for profit organizations, as Chairman, director, and as a member and chair of Audit Committees. Since founding Ollerhead Capital in 1997, he has provided advisory services in respect of the structuring and arranging of private debt financing for transactions totaling approximately $800 million.
